A new difficulty threshold has been set for the Columbus Merchants Football Contest. The least games missed was five and one entry had only four correct. It wasn’t a good week for the red and gold uniforms as the Titans, Gorillas, and Chiefs all lost.

Friday morning a new high tech business opened in Weir with a ribbon cutting and tours of the facility by the visitors.Baima Finishing Solutions at 210 West Main in Weir, owned and operated by Cody and Evan Baima, will specialize in powder coating and media blasting.

Casino revenue up in August

The Kansas Crossing Casino revenue was higher in August 2025 than it was in July of this year and August of 2024.The casino reported $3,502,104 in revenue for August 2025 while July revenue was $3,329,607 and in August of 2024 the casino reported $3,234,565.

Kids tee shirt painting planned at library

Special Coloring Session for the kids will be held on September 29 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Columbus Public Library.The kids will have a Columbus Hot Air Balloon shirt that they will be able to color with fabric paint.
The Mineral All-School Reunion was held Saturday evening at the Old Pirata Ballroom in Carona with a good turnout. Members of various classes visited as they had dinner.
