A new culvert was installed on Merle Evans Drive to facilitate the new apartment complexes on which construction is about to begin. The culvert was installed by the Columbus City crews. City Superintendent Randy Coble said, “we want to thank the County Road Department including Lynn Shallenburger, Cloyd Ray and Cody Zook for their help.”
Law Enforcement agencies from Cherokee County met for the annual Cherokee County Law Enforcement Awards Banquet, Thursday May 15 at Bethel Church in Baxter Springs. Several awards were presented to members who serve with the Baxter Springs Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police Department, and the Galena Police Department.
