Columbus council, mayor get raises

Following extended discussion the Columbus City Council voted to raise the salary of the Mayor and Council members.The council voted unanimously to raise the salaries effective March 1.
National FFA week was celebrated Thursday morning with a pancake and sausage breakfast in FFA shop at Columbus High School. The students served approximately 150 visitors pancakes and their Blue and Gold sausage. Trinity Green and Madisen Rand were serving the visitors.

Planning commission approves proposal

The first step in approval and acceptance of the Columbus Comprehensive Plan was completed Wednesday evening.As the Columbus Planning Commission approved the plan and sent it to the Columbus City Council for their consideration.

CPD receives 2022 Dodge from KHP

The purchase of a 2022 Dodge Durango from the Kansas Highway Patrol for use by the police department was approved by the Columbus City Council Monday night.The city has been involved in the program for the last few years according to Police Chief Kyle Clark.
