County man sentenced for insurance fraud

Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced Thursday, a Cherokee County man has been sentenced to 24 months of probation for insurance fraud.Chad Ashe, 43, pleaded guilty January 21 in Cherokee County District Court to one felony count insurance fraud.

Arrest made in child pornography case

An investigation into child solicitation charges began when the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office was notified by another law enforcement agency April 15 that a child in their jurisdiction was being solicited by an adult male from Cherokee County.

Paige Renee Mam- menga, 37, was admitted to the Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center Sunday on a court ordered commitment.

Ethan Agustine Francis, 49, was arrested Saturday by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers on charges of possession of a stimulant, use or possess drug paraphernalia for use in the human body and possess opiates, opium, narcotic drug and certain stimulants and was released on $12,658 bail.
