Aynsley pottery favored by royals

John Aynsley founded his pottery in Staffordshire, England, in 1775 and initially made earthenware. Like many pottery makers, his son and, later, his grandson joined the business; its name changed to John Aynsley & Sons in the 1860s. About that time, the company began making bone china.

Grant provides syringe take-back box to County

A grant in the amount of $6,100 from the Comer Family Foundation Syringe Service Program has been awarded to the Cherokee County Health Department. This grant will provide a large, outdoor syringe take-back box.

Despite the frigid temperatures, crews with Cherokee County Rural Water District #3 were out repairing a large leak. The leak was located in the area west of Southwest 50th and Highway 166.
