Area Accident Report

A two-car accident occurred March 30 at approximately 8:41. A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Jim Hall, 69, Chetopa, was at the east bound stop sign on Northwest US160 Highway. A 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Donna Bonnie, 76, Parsons, failed to stop and struck the Chevrolet in the rear.

CAC Good Friday service set

Columbus Area Churches invite the community to attend the Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2 at the Camp Joy Church located at 133 East Pine Street. Host pastor Alan McCamey will give the welcome and Eric Hurd will share scripture and give the opening prayer.

Medicalodges Columbus long term care has reopened from the COVID lockdown that was required March 2020. “It has been a very long year, everyone is ready to see their loved ones again, face to face. The staff has also missed the interaction with the families as well,” said Administrator Amy Higgins.

Tonight will be a “Home Sweet Home” evening as the Columbus Chamber of Commerce will hold their 93rd annual dinner. This years theme of “Home-Sweet-Home” will be the décor on 22 tables in the State Theatre Event Center with festivities beginning at 6 p.m.
