Becky G. Davis, 62, of Altamont, died at 10:39 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023, at Labette Health, Parsons. Born October 27, 1960, Becky Gay was the daughter of Jack and Bonnie (Best) Strickland. They preceded her in death. Becky was also preceded in death by a son, Darran Plumlee, in 2005; and stepfather, Jim Peoples.
She grew up in Oswego and graduated from Oswego High School.
Becky and Matthew Davis were united in marriage June 29, 1984. Shortly after they moved to rural Altamont where they still reside.
Becky worked various jobs throughout the years including Amazon and Labette County High School.
Becky will be remembered for her homecooked meals, over feeding her dogs and her hospitality to anyone who stopped to visit. Becky adored her grandchildren and her dogs, Chigger and Indy.
Becky is survived by her husband, Matthew Davis of Altamont; her son Mickey Plumlee (Miranda) of Altamont; daughter, Micha George of Altamont; grandchildren, Maddie and Mallory Plumlee, Braxton and Owen George. Her sister, Rachel Harness (Billy) of Mound Valley; brother, Kevin Strickland of Oregon; and mother-inlaw: Alice Davis of Oswego; along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 4 at Fairview Cemetery in rural Altamont. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
