Donald Rigensberg, Pittsburg

Donald Ray Rigensberg, 82, of Pittsburg, died September 30, 2023 at Pittsburg Health and Rehabilitation in Pittsburg. Born December 13, 1940, in Fort Scott, Donald was the son of Charles and Hattie Benskin Rigensberg. He had been a resident of Pittsburg since 1950. He was a graduate of Pittsburg High School with the class of 1950. He was a military veteran serving in the United StatesArmy.

Donald and Virginia A. Fenimore were united in marriage October 20, 1962, at Pittsburg. She survives at the home in Pittsburg.

Donald worked as a clerk at the United States Post Office in Pittsburg prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his son Corbin J. Rigensberg (wife Birgit) of Pittsburg, one sister Lora Selby (husband Jack) of Opolis; five grandchildren Jessica, Patrick and Alex all of Germany and Eva and Dominik of Pittsburg, four great-grandchildren Penny and Chelsea of Germany and Holden and Booker of Pittsburg.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one son Donnie Ray Rigensberg in 2009.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Jim Sukraw and Reverend Kyle Rogers, will officiate. Larry Thornberg will sing and play the ukulele for the service. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Mike Dalton, Joe Feagan, Jim Berger, Chuck Selby, Jerry Pendergraft and Doug Brisdine.
