Billy G. Sullivan, Jr., 76, Riverton, died at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, October 1, 2023.
Born in Webb City, Mo. February 11, 1947, Billy was the son of Billy G. Sullivan, Sr. and Charlene A. (Busby) Sullivan. He had worked in the maintenance department at B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Okla., for several years until the plant closed, and later worked at Riverton Building Supply and Joplin Venetian Blind.
He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing, gambling at the local casinos, and was an avid guns and ammunition enthusiast. He was a skilled craftsman and all-around handyman who could build, fix, and repair anything.
He was united in marriage with Suzan (Carver) Sullivan in Joplin, Mo. March 24, 1978. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Robert “Bobby” Sullivan (wife, Vicki) of Webb City, Mo.; five daughters, Callie Sullivan-Alexander of Riverton; Becky Talkington of Joplin, Mo., Kathy Taylor (husband, Eric) of Carthage, Mo., Melinda Sullivan of Carthage, Mo., and Courtney Parker (husband, Shawn) of Joplin, Mo.; one brother, Johnny Sullivan (wife, Debbie) of Oronogo, Mo; one sister, Joyce Patton of Reeds, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a sister, Landra Sargent and brother-in-law, Brent Patton.
Billy has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. A celebration of life for Billy will be held Sunday, October 8, at the Riverton Community Building from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
