Carl Arthur Cole, 82, of Frontenac, died at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Medicalodge, in Frontenac following an illness. Born November 1, 1940 in Kansas City, Mo., Carl was the son Carl Glenwood and Dorothy Ann (Jobe) Cole. Prior to his short time at Medicalodge, Carl had lived in Frontenac for the past five years, moving from West Mineral and Corona where he had lived for 45 years.
Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a truck driver for many years, retiring in 2003. He had been a member of the Eagles Club, in West Mineral. Carl enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Carl is survived by his son, Carl “Woody” Cole, (Christy), of Frontenac; daughter, Loretta “Retta” Cole Shook, of Pittsburg; five grandchildren, Quentin Cole, Conner Cole, Paige Cole, Kagan Cole, Tinley Tatum and one great-grand-daughter, Valerie Reyna. He also had three stepchildren and eight additional grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Judy and a granddaughter, Kylan Shook.
Carl was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS for cremation. No services are planned at this time.
