Sandra F. “Sandy” Fox, 71, of McCune, died at 11:05 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by love from her family.
Sandra Faye Meyer was born on July 3, 1952, to John and Ida (Hahn) Meyer. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in North Dakota, graduating from high school in Wing, North Dakota.
Following high school, she continued her education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pittsburg State University. Sandy was a nurse at the Katy Hospital and later at Labette Health, until her retirement in 2012.
A caregiver at heart, Sandy loved her family. Her greatest joy came from spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, taking care of her dogs and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.
On February 25, 1972, Sandy and John D. Fox were united in marriage. He survives.
Other survivors include Two sons – Todd Fox and his wife, Katrina, of McCune, Nathan Fox of Lexington, Kentucky. One daughter – Holly Franklin and her husband, Trenton, of Chetopa. Eight grandchildren – Gage Fox, Eli Fox, Baylie Boaz, Kaden Fox, Eden Fox, Brett Drumeller, Ava Franklin, and Mya Franklin. Five greatgrandchildren, Two sisters – Rhonda McCormick and her husband, Donnie; and Debbie Bertsch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Ian Fox; and one sister, Judy Stroh.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Services are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
