Gary Wayne Henson of Miami, Oklahoma died Friday, December 1, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 81.
Gary was born October 24, 1942 in Columbus, to Jesse Ray and Lena Marie (Johnston) Henson. He had lived in the Miami area since 1969 moving from rural Chetopa. He graduated from Columbus High School class of 1962 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Gary was a rancher and a member of the D.A.V. in Miami, Oklahoma and Miami Elks Lodge No 1320.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronnie Henson and a sister, Judy Tullis.
Gary is survived by his wife Patti Ann (Spicer) Henson of the home, two sons, Douglas Wayne Henson and wife Dana of Tulsa, Okla. and Shannon Eugene Henson of Tulsa, Okla., two daughters, Crystal Dawn Wofford and husband Tracy of Owasso, Okla. and P.J. Boiko and husband Shawn of Skiatook, Okla., one sister, Debbie Martens and husband Henry of Carl Junction, Missouri, 3 grandchildren, Cierra Grant, Hannah Henson and Andrew Henson and one great grandchild, Courtland Grant.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. The family will have private in-
