Betty Bloyed

Betty Bloyed, 95, Jasper, Mo., died at 6:44 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Galena Nursing Center in Galena, after a lengthy illness.

Born November 10, 1929, in Tipton Ford, Mo., Betty had resided most of her life in the Joplin, Mo. area.

She was a bookkeeper for H.E. Shank Food, Inc. for 15 years and was of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed quilting, bingo and putting puzzles together.

Betty and Ernest R. Bloyed were united in marriage August 23, 1968, in Joplin, Mo. He preceded her in death June 24, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Odise and Opal Sanders Newdigger; three sisters; June Jeffries, Charlotte Comer, and Margaret Foster.

Survivors include two sons Randy Newman of Galena and Danny Newman of Carl Junction, Mo.; one daughter; Nancy Watson of Jasper, Mo.; one brother Perry Newdigger of Joplin, Mo. and one sister Joan Bryant of Joplin, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren also survive.

There will be a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Mason-Woodard Chapel followed by a Graveside Service at 11 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Mo. Concluding services there will be a luncheon held at Joplin Heights Baptist Church, 2701 Willard, Joplin, Mo. for friends and family.

Pastor Keith Brumfield will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory in Joplin, Missouri.
