Carolyn Saale, 82, Carl Junction

‘Sue’ Saale, 82 of Carl Junction, Missouri, died peacefully at Quaker Hill Manor, in Lowell, following an extended illness. Born on September 5, 1941 in Stockton, Missouri, Sue was the daughter of the late Wade and Mary John (Emshwiller) Cowan.

Sue graduated from Stockton High School in 1959 and soon after married her sweetheart, Mike Saale on October 2, 1962. Sue’s first retirement came from working with Southwestern Bell and AT&T after more than 25 years of service. She would later own and operate Southwest Diesel and Mans Trucking with her husband before retiring for the second time with Aegis in Joplin. Prior to her decline in health, Sue attended Crossroads Church in Baxter Springs.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Mike August 6, 2021.

Survivors include daughters, Chele Childers (Melvin) of Seneca, Mo. and Nikki Hart of St. Petersburg, Florida; sisters, Sherry Stephens (J.D.) and Kelly Hendricks (Rod) all of Stockton, Mo.; brother, Steve Cowan (Kathy) of Ashland, Missouri; five grandchildren, Chelsea Harmon (Derrick), Lane and Joe Goodwin, Grace and Zeke Hart; one great-grandchild, Ty Harmon; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends.

Funeral Services were held Friday, December 22 at 11 a.m. at Stockton Christian Church with burial to follow at Lindley Prairie Cemetery near Bear Creek, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
