Dorothy Crowder, 91, Joplin, Mo.

Dorothy Mae Crowder, 91 of Joplin, Missouri died Saturday, December 16, 2023. Born October 26, 1932 in Joplin, Dorothy was the daughter of the late William and Cecil (Bray) Holden.

Dorothy served the Lord her entire life and was passionate about her faith and relationship with Jesus. That servant’s heart was shown while serving as church secretary for churches like, First and Second Assembly of God, as well as Landmark Tabernacle Church south of Joplin.

She also worked for over 20 years in her younger years for LaBarge Manufacturing and later retiring as a cook for Walnut Ridge Care Center in Joplin after another 20 plus years of service.

She was a member of Landmark Tabernacle Church, but also faithfully attended Faith Holiness Church of Joplin.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry Crowder, a son, Lonnie Crowder and seven other siblings.

Survivors include is a son, Montie Crowder of Arkansas; daughter in-law, Sheila Crowder of Galena; grandchildren, Holly Whittley, Heath Crowder, Chrystal Rosales, Renee Hurley, Myke Crowder and Maria Crowder; great grandchildren, Anna, Sheila, Hunter, Lake and Bo; two infant great-great grandbabies; sister, Marylin West (Don) of Carl Junction; a host a nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20 at 10 a.m. at Landmark Tabernacle Church with pastor’s Kevin Prisock, Larry DeGonia and Tracy Holden all officiating. Burial will follow at the Carl Junction Cem etery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
