Erma (Evans) Poteet, 95, Joplin, Mo., died January 5, 2024. She retired from Pillsbury in the Quality Control department. After retirement, she spent most of her time with family, going places with grandkids.
In addition to her parents Henry and Florence Jones, Erma was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers, her first husband Carl Evans, stepson Carl Gene Evans, and second husband Bill Poteet.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly (husband, Mick) Baker of Joplin, MO, her son Jay (wife, Janice) Evans of Southlake, Texas; six grandsons, six great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Service will be at Bethel Church in Baxter Springs, Thursday, January 11 at 2 p.m. Pastor Mark Kerr will officiate.
Erma’s care is under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home in Baxter Springs.
