James Guy, 69, Columbus, died January 16, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Born in Columbus, James was the son of Bobbie Guy and Betty Gatewood Guy.
James and Debra Schreiner were united in marriage in May of 1974. She preceded him in death in 2020.
Jim graduated from Columbus Unified High School class of 1972. He was employed by International, Case International, and John Deere retiring in 2000.
His hobbies included woodworking, tractor pulling and fabricating.
In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his father and his dog Molly.
Survivors include his son James Robert “JB” Guy of Columbus; His mother Betty Guy; two sisters, Bobbie (Paul) Koons of Columbus and Jan (Randy) Locke of Erie; brothers-in-law, Louis (Patsy) Schreiner, David (Cheryl) Schreiner, and sister-in-law Susan (Jim) Rockers all of Columbus.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
