June Naccarato, 88 of Mesa, Ariz. died Saturday, July 22, 2023.
June often said, “I’ve lived a good life”. Raised with the loving guidance of her parents, Patrick and Nora (Duval) Price, on a Kansas farm with her three older siblings, Kathryn, JD, Eleanor Mary and twin, Joan, she appreciated the richness family and farm life offered.
Living during the Great Depression and World War II, also shaped June’s approach to life to always be grateful for what you have, help others and find joy in the “simple” things in life.
June and her husband Mike were an adventurous couple and lived in Alaska for over fifty years. They embraced the lifestyle and found a true passion in salmon fishing on the Russian and Kenai Rivers.
During one of their extensive motor home trips to the Lower 48, they discovered a welcoming community in Mesa Ariz. There they spent many sun-filled winters as snowbirds and upon Mike’s death, June made it her permanent home, because at age 81, “I never want to shovel snow again.”
June’s Catholic faith advised her throughout her life and was reflected in her kindness and generosity. Prayer was her daily ritual and the Anchorage prayer group she founded is a legacy to her religious beliefs.
Yes, June had a good life. And she shared that goodness in such ways that inspire us to carry it forward. As a lifelong friend said, “June left a wake of laughter and kindness”.
A funeral service was held in Mesa, Ariz. Prayer and cemetery services will be held on October 7 at 1 p.m. at Saint Bridget’s Church, Scammon.
