Karlyn K. Crain

Karlyn K. Crain, 82, Hallowell, died August 20, 2024 at Quaker Hill Nursing in Lowell.

Born April 22, 1942, Karlyn was the daughter of Carl Handshy, Sr. and Pearl (Parsons) Handshy.

Karlyn attended school at Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School.

Karlyn and Doyle G. Crain were united in marriage July 3, 1959, in Columbus. He survives him of the home.

She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Columbus.

You will never meet a kinder woman. Karlyn was incredibly skilled in holding her tongue instead of saying something negative.

She leaves the family with many happy and funny memories.

Karlyn raised her children to be caring, productive adults. She also touched many others helping with their children.

In addition to her parents, Karlyn was preceded in death by sisters, Zelta Nanny and Anna Luckens; brothers, Howard Handshy, Donald Handshy and Carl Lloyd Handshy, Jr.

Additional survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Paul) Beckham; son Jeffery (Kim) Crain all of Columbus; four grandchildren Misty (Jay) Spear, Curtis Watkins, Kandice (Joel) Ediger, Jeremy Crain, and Josh Crain; great-grandchildren Cody Ediger, Keegan Harris, Hailey Ediger, Connor Crain, Cole Watkins, and Clay Watkins; brothers Jesse Handshy of Columbus and Ray Handshy of Parsons; sisters Alice Delmont of Columbus and Mary Parker of Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus with Dale Hoggatt officiating. Burial will be in the McKee Cemetery.
