Lucy Nell Burrows (Godfrey) 76, Joplin, Mo., died October 18, 2024 at the Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, Missouri.
Born June 20, 1948, in Oswego, Lucy was the daughter of Gertrude Harrison and Hollis Burrows.
Lucy spent her formative years in Oswego among twelve siblings. Lucy lived her life to the fullest. She was known as an individual who you could always count on to cheer you up, give you a hug or a good laugh. She could make anyone laugh with her quotes and commentary, her humor made her many lifelong friends.
Working as a CNA at Quaker Hill Manor in Lowell, she loved caring for others as much as she loved caring for her family. Lucy loved to cook, read the Bible, watch westerns and Hallmark, and love on all her children and grandchildren. She was also an advent lover of Golden Corral and Popeyes.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Hollis; her brothers Fred, Clyde, David “Mackie”, Floyd, Earl and Dwight; her sisters Frances, Velma, Flora.
Survivors include her four children, Seth and wife Lauren Godfrey of Baxter Springs; Shawn Burrows, Summer Godfrey Padilla and Sharon Godfrey all of Webb City, Mo.; Sisters Joy Delmont of Columbus and Jeanie Anderson of Pryor, Okla. and Iris Pallus of Texas; Grandchildren Denver Burrows (Adrianna Mooneyham), Jordan Burrows (Clayton Hurtt), Tristan Bunce, Preston Garcia, Karissa Casada, Kylee Ward, Jerzie Rios, Sophia Godfrey, Lily Godfrey. Great-grandchildren; Hudson Hurtt, Grayson Burrows, Ophelia Burrows; Bonus grandchildren Danielle and Nayeli, and several family members and friends also survive.
Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
