Mary Maxine Higgins, 89, Galena, died Sunday, August 16, 2026 at her home following an illness.
Born April 6, 1937 in Oakland, Mo., Mary was raised by her foster parents, Albert Leroy and Barbara Mable (Thompkins) Briggs. She moved to Galena in 1992.
Mary had previously lived in Snoqualmie, Washington and Joplin, Mo. She worked several years as a nurse aide. Her hobby was collecting dolls. She atten…
