Robert Brumback, 63, Riverton

Robert D. Brumback, 63, of Riverton died October 31, 2023. Born June 3, 1960 he was the son of Robert L. Brumback and Edith J. Brumback of Columbus. He attended Columbus High School graduating with the Class of 1978.

After graduating Robert enlisted in the United States Army. He served two active tours in Germany before coming home to start a family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Alicia Brumback, a brother in-law, Tim Hill, and many other loved ones.

Survivors include three children Gina M. Harvey (husband Josh D. Harvey) of Columbus, youngest son Jaret D. Brumback of McCune and David L. Brumback (wife Juanita Brumback) of Joplin, Mo. His son David and wife Juanita also blessed him with three grandchildren, the youngest of their children made her debut on Robert’s birthday. Two sisters also survive, Lorri Guison and husband Steve of Scammon and Lesa Schroeder and husband Gaylan of Severy. Two nieces, who have started their families and a nephew also survive.

Robert worked at Ace Electric until its closure and then attended Labette Community College where he graduated with a degree in construction. He then worked for Airgas until its closure. He loved to solve puzzles when it came to machines, construction, or mechanics. His papa gave him the nickname Professor due to his inquisitive mind. He loved the outdoors where he would do anything from fishing, hunting, and trapping with friends and his family. He was meticulous with any construction he worked on resulting in several houses that show his craftsmanship. A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverton Community Building Monday, November 13 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
