Sammy Keller Taber, 76, of Welch, Okla., died Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Global Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, Okla. Born January 17, 1947, in Picher, Okla., Sammy was the son of Amos and Lola Opal (Tremble) Taber. They preceded him in death.
Sammy had lived in Welch, Okla. since 2002 moving from Picher, Okla. He worked for Humber Sand and Gravel in Picher, Okla.
Sammy and Ruella Diane Mackin were united in marriage July 23, 1974. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Sammy is survived by a son, Sammy David Taber of Commerce, Okla.; daughters, Samantha Whiten of Baxter Springs, Heather Woodcock of Treece, Rhonda Thompson of Webb City, Mo., Brenda Ward of Welch, Okla. and Elizabeth Carr of Wyandotte, Okla.; a brother, Johnny Taber of Frontenac; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
