Samuel E Frazier, 78, Galena, died Sunday evening December 17 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo., with his kids at his side. He is now in the presence of his Lord and savior, as well as reunited with the love of his life, Topper.
Born August 5, 1945 in Galena, Samuel was a lifelong resident of Galena. He focused his time and attention on his family. He also enjoyed raising cows and spoiling his granddaughters every chance he got. He enjoyed cutting wood and all outdoor activities.
Samuel and Phyllis “Topper” Jenkins were united in marriage July 1. 1966. She preceded him in death May 13, 2023.
In addition to his wife and parents Robert E. Frazier and Josie Frazier, Samuel was preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bobby Joe” Frazier.
Survivors include one son, Chet Frazier (wife, April) of Galena; one daughter, Cathy Frazier (partner, Cameron) of Galena; two granddaughters, Taylor McDaniel (husband, Dustin), Samantha Bryan; two brothers, David Earl Frazier (wife, Margaret) of Galena, and Don Frazier of Galena; two sisters, Dixie Bullard (husband, Art) of Galena, and Wanda Moran of Galena.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena.
Pallbearers serving were Dustin McDaniel, Chet Frazier, Cameron Bryan, Brent York, David Frazier, and Donald Frazier, with honorary pallbearers being Robert Moran and Joe Morgan. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena.
