Sheila I. Pennington, 58, of Bartlett, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her home Born October 3, 1965, in Columbus, Sheila Illene Shelton was the daughter of Ernest Allen and Cora Illene (LaPee) Shelton. She grew up in the Labette County area.
Sheila’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her friends and her dog, Sooner.
Sheila is survived by daughters: Jerri Shelton of Joplin, Mo. and Sara Yeahquo (husband, Jason), of Oklahom; eight grandchildren: Jasmyn, Caitlyn, Adrian, Kylie, Jayde, Jaxon, Arabella, and Atlas. Six brothers: Ernest Shelton Jr. and John Shelton both of Columbus, Jerry Barker of Bartlett, Richard Shelton of Excelsior Springs, Mo. Ernest Lee (Pete) Shelton of Lewisville, Ark. and Johnny Shelton of Tyler, Texas; four sisters: Rozena Farrow of Bartlett, Betty Jo Feilds of Jane, Mo., Peggy Pruit of Bella Vista, Ark. and Dee Bear of Hope, Ark.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Debra Shewbirt.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa.
