Sheila Katherine Scales, 73, Pittsburg, died at 8:54 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her residence in Pittsburg.
Born November 9, 1950, in Girard, Kathy was the daughter of Alfred and Betty (Dietsche) Wheeler.
Kathy and Gary Scales were united in marriage February 15,1969 in Girard; he survives of the home.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburg.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed rummage sales and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents. In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Joe Scales and his wife Lauren of Roanoke, Va., David Scales of Pittsburg; three sisters Anita McGown of McCune, Louise Boss of Cherryvale, Beverly Denning of Nevada, Mo.; four grandchildren, PFC Sean Michael Scales, Samantha Lynn Scales, Jacob Scales, Jessica Rivera; four great-grandchildren Elena Rivera, Addison Rivera, Adler Scales and Asher Scales also survive.
A memorial service for will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9 at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2825 N. Joplin St., Pittsburg.
Memorials are suggested to the Harry Hynes Hospice and these may be left at the Memorial Service.
