Lady Titans sweep NE, improve to 14-1

The Columbus Lady Titans continued their winning streak with a pair of victories at Arma, Tuesday. Picking up wins 13 and 14, the Lady Titans swept the double header, 9-0 and 211.

CJHS Golf adds hardware to collection

The Central Junior High School Golf Team added to their treasure of hardware with three medals at the Caney Valley Middle School Golf Tournament, Thursday, in Caney. Cali Carpino, seventh grader, placed first in the girls division of the tournament followed by Fallon Smiley, seventh grader.

Titan Golf third in CNC standings

The Columbus Titan High School Golf Team is sitting in third place in CNC League Standings with three league tournaments to play this season after a busy week in Frontenac, Baxter Springs, and Pittsburg for the St. Mary’s-Colgan tournaments.

Lady Titan Junior, Torey Tedlock, knocked in nine runs in the Tuesday win over Northeast-Arma, 21-1. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

Lady Titans sweep 5A Pittsburg

The Columbus Lady Titans swept their former SEK League rival, the Lady Purple Dragons, 12-2 and 8-0, in a varsity double header, Monday, in Pittsburg. The KSHSAA Class 5A team is currently 7-4 with two of those losses coming in the non-conference tussle with Columbus.

Titan Eighth Boys second at CJHS Invitational

The Columbus Invitational Track and Field Meet came down to the final event in the eighth grade boys division. Columbus was leading until Frontenac took first in the 4x400 Meter Relay to claim the team title with 99.5 team points, two points ahead of Columbus with 97.5 team points. Baxter Springs was third with 85 in the close races.

Titan Boys Eighth Grade Thinclads first at Girard

The Columbus Eighth Grade Titan Track and Field Team took first in the team standings, Thursday, at the Girard Invitational Meet. The Titan Team scored 70 team points, edging Independence by one point with 69. Fredonia was third with 54.5 team points.
