The Columbus Cal Ripken 8 and under All-Stars wrapped up their season at the Kansas Cal Ripken 8U Rookies State Tournament, Saturday and Sunday, at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.Although the team came up short, they played well and gained valuable experience.

Babe Ruth 13-16 State opens in Frontenac today

The Columbus 13-16 year-old Babe Ruth Baseball Team will be playing in the Kansas Babe Ruth 13-16 year-old State Tournament, Saturday and Sunday in Frontenac.Events begin with the coaches and officials meeting, today at 3 p.m. followed by the picnic for players, coaches, and officials at 4:30 p.m.
The Columbus Cal Ripken 8 and Under/Coach Pitch All-Stars are hosting the Kansas Cal Ripken State Rookie Tournament, Saturday and Sunday at the Community Field Ball Park. Cal Ripken Rookie State Saturday

The Columbus Cal Ripken League is hosting the Kansas 8U (Rookie) State Tournament, tomorrow and Sunday at the Community Field Ball Park on South Kansas Avenue.The tournament will utilize Rockette Field, the north west diamond in the park, for all six or seven games of the event.

The Columbus Babe Ruth League hosted the Kansas District 5 Tournament Saturday and Sunday on Bomber Field in the Columbus Community Field Ball Park. The local team was runner-up in the district following a championship loss to Frontenac, 15 to 2.

The CUHS Varsity Lady Titans ended their day in third place at a recent volleyball tournament in Oswego. Columbus was 8-7 in pool play, losing just one set. “We are a young team figuring out new positions for some but coming together,” stated head coach Ryan Lacen.
