The Columbus Babe Ruth League began their summer schedule Tuesday on Bomber Field at the Community Field Ball Park with the local team hosting Parsons for a double header.Last night Fredonia was scheduled to be in Columbus for game two of the young season.

CNC golfers advance at state

The Frontenac Raider Golf Team and members of the St. Mary’s-Colgan Team will represent the CNC League in round two of the Kansas State High School Championship Golf Tournaments as they extended play due to weather earlier in the week.
The Columbus Cal Ripken Major Leaguers were on the field between rains and storm warnings to get in this game between the VFW and Vital Signs, Tuesday. Vital Signs came away with the win, 3-0. Batting for the VFW is Cole Atkinson with Cord Saporito catching and Brett Hamilton umpiring. The Major League Division plays on Volunteer Field, Tuesday and Thursday nights.
