The Southeast Track and Field Team had five Three Rivers League Champions at the end of the league meet, May 9.

Lady Titan JV wins double header

The Columbus Lady Titan Junior Varsity Team closed out their 2024 season with a double header sweep of Frontenac, Thursday, on Rockette Field in the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.

Regional baseball continues

Riverton, Galena, Baxter Springs, and Frontenac advanced to represent the CNC League in the Kansas Class 3A Caney Valley Tournament. The four semi-finalists eliminated Cherryvale, Caney Valley, Girard, and Columbus in the regional quarterfinal games Wednesday and Thursday.

Columbus Girls Softball League games underway

The Columbus Girls Softball League began their 2024 league schedule the last weeks of April and are continuing through June.Below are the remaining schedules for the 12 and under and the 14 and under teams.The Tee Ball games begin the final week of May.

Frontenac, Riverton advance in 3A tourney

Frontenac, the number one seed in the Kansas Class 3A Riverton Regional Softball Tournament, run-ruled Galena (5-19, the eighth seed), 15-0, in the quarterfinal game, Monday, in Riverton.

Carpino first at Columbus Invite

Cali Carpino, Lady Titan Seventh Grader, captured the top individual medal in the Columbus Junior High School Golf Tournament, April 30, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Fallon Smiley, seventh grade, placed ninth in the final tournament of the 2024 season.

Regional 3A Golf postponed

The Kansas Class 3A Regional Golf Tournament hosted by Frontenac was postponed yesterday due to weather conditions. Teams are scheduled to be on the course at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg today beginning at 8:30 a.m.

CUHS Track yields league placers

The CUHS Track and Field Team had multiple placers at the CNC League Meet, Thursday, in Frontenac. The Lady Titans combined for 29 points and a fifth place team finish paced by freshman, Laney Atkinson, who placed third in the high jump and fourth in the 100 meter hurdles.

Titans of the Week

Titans Cole Youngblood, senior; Luke Gray, senior; Easton Long, freshman; and Kanyen Smith, junior, earned All-CNC League honors by placing in the top 15 in the CNC League six-tournament final standings. They are being recognized as Titans of the Week.

USD493 track meet canceled

The Columbus USD 493 Elementary Track and Field Meet scheduled for today has been cancelled.The event was planned to be held today at the CUHS Football Field.
