All-CNC honorees announced

The Girard Trojans came out on top of the 2023-24 CNC League Boys Basketball League with a 10-2 record. Senior, Aiden Troike, led the All-CNC League First Team as a unanimous selection.Four of the five first team choices were by unanimous vote from the league coaches.

Girls All-CNC selections

Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League officials released the All-CNC selections for the 2023-24 basketball season in a recent announcement. The Columbus Lady Titans had two players named to the all-league list.

Mini Titan Basketball introduced

Members of the Columbus Titan Third Grade Boys Basketball Team were introduced at the halftime of the Titan Varsity Game against Coffeyville in February. Team member present are back row: Kamden Sallee, Carter Long, Jaxsyn Robinson, and Lee Snow.

Sharp completes 10,000 challenge

Jax Sharp is another Columbus Youth Basketball player who completed the 10,000 Shot Challenge earlier this winter at the Red Iron Activity Center. 

Titan Wrestling takes on Topeka

The top Titans in the Columbus Wrestling Club represented their team, Friday through Saturday in the USA Kansas State Wrestling Tournament in Topeka.The Young Titans placed in the top four at the USAWKS District Tournament in Overland Park the prior weekend to earn a spot in the state bracket.

Saporito gets two NAIA tourney wins

Addison Saporito former Columbus Lady Titan Wrestler and Aileen Lester, freshmen at Ottawa University led the Lady Braves in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Women’s Wrestling Tournament in Jamestown, North Dakota, Friday.

Lady Panthers third in Class 2A

The St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panther win streak and quest for a state another state title came to an abrupt halt Friday in Dodge City with a 40-48 loss in the Kansas Class 2A State Semi-final game to Wichita-The Independent (20-3).

CNC Teams play in state tournaments

The CNC League sent three teams to the Kansas Class 2A and 3A State Basketball Tournaments last week. The Riverton Rams boys team (17-6) travelled to Hutchinson to represent the CNC League in the Class 3A Tournament.

Last chance for Cal Ripken sign-up

Columbus Cal Ripken League still taking signups.Although the two designated dates for in-person sign-ups have passed, players can still sign up and pay their fee by March 28.League officials have posted a form on their Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League facebook page.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Senior, Brooklyn Lima, became the first Columbus Wrestler invited to the Kansas Shrine Duals. She is being recognized a Titan of the Week.Lima joins 14 other senior wrestlers on the East Squad in the inaugural Kansas Shrine Dual event.
