Girls softball sets sign-up dates

The Columbus Girls Softball League have two sign up dates set for the 2024 spring/summer season.Wednesday, league officials will be at the Central School Round Top Gymnasium from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.They will return, Wednesday, March 6 in the same time slot.

The top four seeds in the Kansas Class 3A Caney Valley Girls Basketball Sub-State Tournament will host the first, quarterfinal, round of the tournament, Tuesday, on their home courts.

The Frontenac Raider Wrestlers took fourth place at the Kansas Class 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, in Independence. Columbus placed seventh and Girard was 11th with 11 CNC League Wrestlers advancing to the 4A Tournament in Salina, Thursday through Saturday.

It was raining three pointers in Galena Friday night as both the home team and the Lady Titans were draining buckets from behind the three-point line all night. Columbus started with the hot hand with eight treys in the first half from three players to take the win, 55-39.
