Simpson, Lima, Columbus win at Euerka Invitational

The Columbus Lady Titans took first place at the fourth annual Eureka Women`s Invitational Wrestling Tournament, Saturday. Seniors, Katie Simpson and Brooklyn Lima led the way, winning their weight classes and compiling 26 and 24 points for their team.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Senior, Lizzy Welch, won her weight class in a January 6, virtual lifting meet hosted by Eudora High School and was first place overall in the Power Weight Class, January 13, at the Wichita East virtual meet. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

Eight take first in Matside tourney

The Matside Wrestling Club hosted a tournament, Saturday in Girard. The Open/Novice/Girls members of the Columbus Wrestling Club sent 39 wrestlers to compete in the 34-team event. Eight Mini Titan Wrestlers placed first in the tournament in their respective age/weight classes.

Natalini first at Ft. Scott Tourney

Mini Titan Wrestler, Lucas Natalini, 10 and under, 70-73, placed first in the Fort Scott Wrestling Tournament, Sunday. Briggs Johnson, 10U, 82-85, placed second and Rhett Tedlock, six and under, 46A, finished fourth in their second tournament of the weekend for Columbus Wrestling Club.

O’Banion, Rodriguez place at Bobcat

Jayden Rodriguez, Titan Sophomore, and Mason O’Banion, freshman, had big tournaments at the Bobcat Classic in Basehor-Linwood, Saturday. It is arguably the toughest tournament in the state according to Columbus Head Coach Marcus Bowman.

Lady Titans productive at Labette Co.

The Columbus Lady Titan Wrestling Team traveled to Labette County, Saturday for a tournament. Team scores were not kept. Katie Simpson, Grace Noel, Brooklyn Collingsworth, Brooklyn Lima, Madelyn Garcia, Taryn Billings, and Cara Altis all won their three matches on the day.

Rec Basketball Saturday games

The Columbus Youth Basketball League will travel to Galena tomorrow for their second week of games. The two gymnasiums at Galena High School will be kept busy most of the day. There is a three dollar admission fee for adults. Students are free. Main Gym 9:05 a.m. 1st/2nd Girls 9:40 a.m.

College Heights takes classic win

The College Heights Lady Cougars took revenge on the Columbus Lady Titans, Wednesday, at the 32nd Annual Lancer Classic in Cherokee.

Columbus JV gets two-quarter win

The Lady Titan Junior Varsity Squad played two quarters against the Lady Lions in Baxter Springs, Friday, earning an 18-12 win. Columbus scored seven in the first quarter versus four for the Lady Lions to open with the lead.

Shiloh Christian edges Titans in dual

Shiloh Christian edged the hometown Titans, 36-33, in a dual, Thursday, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium. There were some close matches and each team collected one forfeit in the exciting event. Columbus and Iola will wrestle in a double dual, Thursday, at Fort Scott.
