Mooney scores 32 in CNC win

Lady Titan Sophomore, Katy Mooney, outscored the visiting Lady Lions, 32-29, in the 52-29, CNC League win over Baxter Springs at the CUHS Gymnasium, Friday. Mooney poured in five, three-pointers and was five of seven at the free throw line to lead the Lady Titans to the CNC League win.

Although Galena Senior, Mia Sarwinski, netted four, three pointers, for a total of 27 points for the night, Riverton (5-3) came out ton top, 54-41. Senior, Jayce Thomasson had 19 points and junior, Chloe Parker, had 15 for Riverton.

Titan JV has full game vs Lions

The Titan Junior Varsity seldom gets in a full game, splitting time with the C team on most nights, but a complete game was played against Baxter Springs, Friday at the CUHS Gymnasium. The visiting Lions earned a big win, 73-43, before the night was over.

Lancer Classic begins Monday

The 2023 Annual Lancer Classic Basketball Tournament kicks off Monday in Cherokee. The Columbus Titans will kick off the boys bracket at 4 p.m. against Neodesha. Riverton and Baxer Springs will square off at 5:30 p.m. followed by Southeast and Parsons.

Riverton take three of four over Titans

The Riverton Rams took three of four games over the Columbus Junior High Titans, Monday in Riverton. The Titan Eight Grade B Team was victorious in their contest, 26-15. The Eight Grade A Team lost 37-42. A 16-point third quarter by the 8A Rams propelled them to the win after trailing at the half.

Lady Titan Sophomore, Katy Mooney, pumped in 22 points in the 45-42 win over the St. Paul Lady Indians at the Columbus High School Gymnasium, Tuesday.
