Titan Jr. Varsity tames Bulldogs

The Titan Junior Varsity Squad picked up their first win of the season against a tough Galena Bulldog Team, Monday, in Columbus. Freshman, Cal Saporito, put the first points on the board for the Titans with a two-yard touchdown run.

Titan JV hosts cross country

The Columbus Titan Cross Country Team hosted a junior varsity race, Tuesday at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Baxter Springs boasts five of the top seven runners in the boys 5K race. Luke Frazier, freshman placed first (12:23.5 minutes) and Tyler Frazier, freshman, placed second (13:05.1 minutes).

Mini Titan 5th/6th shut out Pittsburg

The Titan Mini Football Fifth and Sixth Grade Team shut out the visiting Pittsburg Matlock Team, 28-0, Saturday at Titan Stadium in the week three match up. Columbus scored first on a pass from Jace Gaither to Jayden Dohle. Blaze Bowman added the twopoint conversion to put the Titans on top, 8-0.
Members of the Lady Titan Eighth Grade Cross Country Team hosted a cross country meet, Tuesday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Kennedy Reichardt placed eighth, Natalie Wary was third, and Laney Atkinson placed fifth on the 3200 meter course.

Columbus Titan Eighth Grader, Levi Simpson, placed second in the Columbus Invitational Cross Country Meet, Tuesday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Brayden Green was fourth and Easton Long placed tenth for the Titans. Results (top 10) eighth 1 Colton Carson, Parsons, 11:58.

Natalie Wary, Columbus Titan Eighth Grader, placed third in the Columbus Invitational Cross Country Meet, Tuesday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Natalie ran a time of 15:15.2 minutes in the 3200 meter race. Laney Atkinson placed fifth with a time of 15:18.

Lady Titan Golf second at Colgan

The Lady Titan Golf Team continues to finish at near the top of the leader board, second only to the league leading team from St. Mary’s-Colgan. Thursday, September 22, the team placed second in the Colgan-Frontenac Invitational held in Pittsburg.

The models were built using newspaper and tape with the requirement that it had to stand alone when completed. Addilyn Wilson, Maddie Duling, Ryker Youngblood show their tower.

Week 4 football contest results

The Pittsburg State Gorillas, the Girard Trojans and the Parsons Vikings all improved to 4-0 this week. The Gorillas eeked out a 14-13 win over Emporia State in a defensive battle with the Hornets.

Columbus Youth Soccer scores

The Columbus Youth Soccer League opened their season, Saturday, with a full slate of games at Eddington Park. Four teams played two games in four of the five age divisions. One game was played in the 11 and up age division. Mercy Hospital Columbus took that win, 4-0 over Calibrated/ Folder Express.

Bulldogs run over Titans in Galena

Galena used two backs to run over the Columbus Titans on their home field and take a 36-22 win, Friday night in Galena. Senior, Tyler Little and junior, Zane Turner, combined for 358 rushing yards, five touchdowns, and a twopoint conversion in their homecoming win.
