Smith leads Columbus to fourth place finish

Titan Senior, Trent Smith, led the Columbus High School Golf Team to a fourth place finish at the St. Mary’s-Colgan Invitational, Tuesday in Pittsburg with a team total of 396. Trent placed 11 th overall with a 95 shot, scorecard total.

Mid-season CNC Golf standings

The CNC League Golf Season reached its midway point, Tuesday, at the St. Mary’s-Colgan Invitational at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg. Six tournaments make up the league standings with Columbus, Girard and Galena remaining to host league events.

Levi Simpson, Central Titan Seventh Grader, won the 1600M run at the Columbus Invitational, Monday. Levi placed third in the 800M run and fourth in the 400M dash and is a member of the second place medley relay team.

Lions edge Rams in double header

At the Field of Dreams facility, the Lions Baseball Squad took two from the visiting Rams. Baxter Springs won the opener, 4-2, with five hits and the second game, 3-2, with only three hits. Senior, Kamo Williamson, picked up the win in game one striking out ten and allowing six base hits.

Lady Lions add two more wins

The Baxter Springs Lady Lions improved their softball record to 6-2 with a double header win in Pittsburg against St. Mary’s-Colgan. They won the first game 7-3 and the nightcap, 13-6. The Lady Lions left the bases full in their opening inning but managed one run.

Lady Titan 7th win Columbus Invite Championship

The Lady Titan Seventh Grade Team earned the team title, Monday, in the Columbus Invitational Track and Field Meet at the Central Junior High School Campus. The Lady Titans scored 104 team points to lead the pack of 14 teams.

Titan Junior, Kolt Ungeheuer, threw a perfect game for the Titan Baseball Team against Galena, Tuesday. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Kolt used just 17 pitches in three innings for his perfect game against the visiting Bulldogs at Bomber Field.

Major pitches shutout, hits two homers

The Columbus Lady Titans picked up a pair of CNC League wins, April 12, including a five inning, 10-0 shut out in which Lady Titan Sophomore, Graci Major hit two, two-run home runs and got the win on the mound. Columbus won the first game, 12-9, in an error plagued matchup.

Columbus dominates in Missouri

Lady Titan Senior, Lily Mooney, allowed three hits with five strike outs to lead the Columbus to a 10-0 shut out over Eldorado Springs, Mo., Thursday in an intrastate contest. The hosts, Liberal/ Bronaugh, Mo. fell victim in an 18-1 dominating win in the second game of the day.

Central Titan Golfers first at Galena tournament

The Central Junior High Golf Team took first place at the Galena Golf Tournament, Thursday at Schifferdecker Park in Jopin, Mo. Columbus scored 236 on their total score card. Natalie Wary led the junior Titans winning first place in individual scoring shooting 57.
