Titans beat Lions in make-up bout

The Columbus Titans started their three-game week with a CNC League win in Baxter Springs, 54-43, Monday night. The game was a make-up of an earlier postponed matchup and was a lot closer than the final score indicated.

Lady Titans cage Lady Lions

Freshman, Katy Mooney, two, and sophomore, Graci Major, one, drained consecutive treys to start the game and never looked back as the Columbus Lady Titans took a 53- 38 win over the Lady Lions in Baxter Springs, Monday.

Titan Wrestlers have 2-1 week

The Columbus Titan Wrestlers split their final week of January with two wins in three matches. Columbus started Tuesday with a dual in Independence, falling to the Bulldogs on their home mats, 29-59. Thursday, the Titans traveled to Parsons for a double dual with the Vikings and Cherryvale.

Third Ken Jones Classic moved

The Columbus Wrestling has moved their Third Annual Ken Jones Wrestling Classic from its December date to February 20 at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium. Split sessions will be held beginning at 9 a.m. and noon with the six and under, 8 and under, and girls at 9 a.m.

TITAN OF THE WEEK

Lady Titan Junior, Addison Saporito, swept the final week of January on the mats with two dual wins and a tournament championship. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

Lady Titan wrestlers third in large Topeka tourney

The Columbus Lady Titan Wrestlers placed third at the Topeka-Washburn Rural Women`s Wrestling Invitational, Saturday. The event is the largest for lady wrestlers in the state with 247 participants representing 32 teams.

Riverton Rams spoil Lions homecoming

Chloe Parker, Riverton Sophomore, scored thirteen of her seventeen points in the second half to down Baxter Springs, 42-25, on the Lady Lions Homecoming, Friday night in Baxter Springs.

Titans Smith, Scibor place at SEK Invite

Titan Seniors, Trenton Smith and Jacob Scibor earned third and fifth place finished respectively at the 2022 SEK Invitational, Saturday in Chanute. Tabbed as one of the toughest tournaments in the state, the Titans held their own in most matches and wrestled hard until the buzzer.

Lady Titans fall in close contest with Lady Raiders

The Lady Titans played with the Lady Raiders throughout the first three quarters but a dismal fourth quarter allowed Frontenac to take the win, 45-31. The game was closely contested and the final score does not properly reflect the toughness of the Lady Titans and their resilience to bounce back.
