Titans receive All-District honors

The Kansas Class 3A, District 1, All-District Football Teams were announced by district coaches over the weekend. The district consists of six schools: Baxter Springs, Caney Valley, Cherryvale, Columbus, Galena, and Parsons.

Lady Titans swept at home

The Central Lady Titans were swept by the visiting St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers, Monday, at the Central School Gymnasium.

Central Wrestlers on home mats

Titan Wrestler, Levi Simpson, placed second in the “B” Division of the Central Titans Wrestling Tournament, Saturday at the CUHS Gymnasium. Levi has his Labette County opponent right where he wants him. See complete results on page 7 of today’s News-Report.

Central Titans host junior high wrestling tourney

The Central Junior High School Titans hosted 13 schools, Saturday at the Columbus High School Gymnasium for the Central Titan Wrestling Tournament. Columbus had six wrestlers competing for the team points title in the “A” division.

Senior Titan Football Players showed their appreciation for super fan, Carolyn Eddington, presenting her with a new “press pass” lawn chair to travel with her to all Titan games and events.

The Central Junior High School Winter Sports Schedule continues in full force this week starting with wresting in Pittsburg and Girls Basketball on the Central Campus tonight.

Frontenac advances to Class 3A Sub-State

The Frontenac Raiders remain alive in the Kansas Class 3A Football state Playoffs after their Sectional win over St. George-Rock Creek, 42-26, Friday, at St. George.

Riverton Rams Kansas 2A Sectional Runner-up

The Rossville Dawgs showed why they are the number one ranked Kansas Class 2A Football Team with their 56-14, Sectional Championship win over Riverton, Friday, in Rossville. After leading 21-6 at the half, the Dawgs scored 35 more points in the second half of the dominating win.

Titan fall seniors recognized

Titan Senior, Caden Glover, was recognized on Senior Night recently at Titan Stadium. Caden is a three-year member of the Titan Soccer Team. He was escorted by his parents, Becky and Sam Glover. Titan Senior, Jaxson Haraughty, was recognized on Senior Night recently at Titan Stadium.

Central begins wrestling season

The Central Junior High Wrestling Team opened their season with duals against Labette County and Diamond, Mo., Monday. Both the Titans and Lady Titans competed in matches at the Central Campus with the girls winning six matches to Labette County’s ten.
