Results in the Floriculture and Crops classes are as follows. In the Annuals-Floriculture division Ryleigh Holmes, Spring Valley Sparklers, was the Reserve Champion. She also earned three purple ribbons.

Weekly screen time report

Anyone else cringe at their weekly screen time report? Digging a little deeper, I see it tells me how many ‘pick ups’ I have and where I look first. I hate to admit it, but based this report, I am very close to the average adult, checking my phone every 12 minutes.

Cherokee County 4-H members exhibit equestrian skills

Results have been announced for the Cherokee County Horse Show. In Senior Fitting and Showing Trevor French, Glittering Stones, was Grand Champion. Reserve Champion was Montana Elmer, Spring Valley Sparklers.

Ribbons awarded in photography classes at county fair

Photography results have been announced for the 4-H classes. Grand Champion in Junior Color Photos was awarded to Kaydence Killebrew, Glittering Stones. Reserve Champion was awarded to Addison Queen, Glittering Stones.

Fertilizer ratios indicate nutrients

Fertilizer ratios indicate the percent of nutrients, by weight, in a particular fertilizer. Ratios are always given as the percent nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), followed by potassium (K), in this order. For example, a 10-10-20 fertilizer contains 10-percent N, 10-percent P and 10-percent K.

Results in the 4-H and Open beef classes have been announced. In Senior Fitting and Showing Cole Youngblood, Shamrock, was Grand Champion. Katelyn Moran, Spring Valley Sparklers, was Reserve Champion.

Crusaders to hold concert at Crestline First Baptist

A special concert by the Crusaders will be hosted by the First Baptist Church of Crestline Saturday, August 21 at 6 p.m. The group sings traditional Southern Gospel songs that promote the love of God with the hope that people will come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
