2022 open class beef results posted

Open class results are posted for the Beef Cattle classes. Alexander Burton, Spring Valley Sparklers, received two blue ribbons in Beef Cattle classes. Tyson Capron received a red ribbon in Junior Bulls. Amyx Evans received a blue ribbon in Junior Heifer.

Ribbons awarded in 2022 4-H, FFA market beef classes

Results in the 4-H and Future Farmers of America Market Beef classes have been announced. Beckett Asher, Lone Elm Beavers, received blue ribbons in Bucket Calves and in Feeder Calves. Hudson Asher, Lone Elm Beavers, was the Reserve Champion in Intermediate Fitting and Showing.

Youth earn ribbons in open division

Open class Dairy Goat results are announced. Beckett Asher, Lone Elm Beavers, had a Grand Champion in Senior Doe 24-36 months. He received a first and a third placing in Senior Doe 36-48 months. He received a fifth placing in Senior Doe 24-36 months.

Results have been announced in the 4-H and Future Farmers of America Dairy Goat classes. Beckett Asher, Lone Elm Beavers, had the Champion Dairy Goat. He had first placings in zero-under three months, three to under six months, 24-under 36 months and 36-under 48 months.

There will be a few new faces in the Southeast School District this year. Bobbie Powers will be teaching MTSS with Kfourth grades. She will be doing targeted intervention for reading and math. Powers has worked for the district for the past four years as a para.

Columbus Public Library Hours

The Columbus Public Library will be open to the public, with a five person limit. Mondays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday 9 a.m-6 p.m. Thursdays 9 a.m.-6 a.m. Fridays 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. Curbside service will be available upon request.

The Columbus Day committee is preparing for it’s 24th scarecrow contest to be held during the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta. Last year, attendees to the festival strolled down Maple Street to view some 14 scarecrows.
