Shidelers celebrate seventieth wedding anniversary

A 70-year anniversary celebration is planned to honor Harold and Joanne Shideler. The family will gather for church Sunday, June 19, followed by a lunch prepared by the family. Harold James Shideler and Joanne Marie Cosner were united in marriage, Sunday, June 8, 1952.

Local employees recognized

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas recently celebrated 42 employees during its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony, combined their service equals 350 years of service. Each year, CHC/SEK recognizes employees who have worked for five, 10 and 15 years.

Community Health Center presents new award

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas will present a new community service award in conjunction with its 20th year celebration. This award will be named after CHC/SEK board member Judy Westhoff, coined “The Judy.

Dance students take the stage at annual NSD recital

Several high school girls were participants in a recent dance recital by Natalie’s School of Dance. Three of those dancers included Brooklyn Lima, Darcy Garrett and Kennedy Bullard.

Riverton High School graduates 46 students in ceremony

Fireworks fundraiser

Burgers, brats and hot dogs are on the menu for the upcoming Firework Fundraiser. Members of the Columbus Fire Department will be set up at the splash pad grand opening Friday, June 3, 4 p.m.-7 p.m. For an $8 donation customers will receive a burger, brat or hot dog, chips and a drink.

After a brief delay due to weather the City of Columbus’ H&H splash pad will have a grand opening Friday, June 3 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. An evening of live music and food will be available.
