A contract of nearly $2 million was recently awarded by the Kansas Department of Transportation to grade a surface approximately three city blocks of South Military Avenue in Baxter Springs.
Awarded to Heck and Wicker Inc., of Parsons, the $1,937,071.70 project calls for complete grading and surfacing of U.S. Highway 69 Alternate from 23rd Street north to 20th Street.
