Members of the Columbus Junior High Band will be marching down Maple during the Columbus Day Parade. The parade will begin at 9:40 a.m. Saturday and will travel east on Maple to Tennessee.
When the Columbus Courthouse was built in 1889 the shining star atop the magnificent building was the Seth Thomas Clock.
No matter which side of the historic building one looked up and there was the lighted clock keeping perfect time.
The clock which very much resembled the clock Seth Thomas built for installation in the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
