The retirement of Cherokee County Appraiser David Thornton was accepted Monday by the Cherokee County Commissioners.
Thornton said he plans to go into private practice with his son, they will be doing private appraisals.
Thornton has been the county appraiser in Cherokee County since July of 2021.
