The resignation of County Health Officer Betha Elliott was accepted by the Cherokee County Commission Monday morning at their regular meeting. She was an integral part of the county’s campaign to combat COVID- 19 during the pandemic beginning in March of 2020.
Elliott, has held the County Health Department position for the past 36 years and she will leave the County office on May 5.
