Rains fell overnight June 7 and 8 dousing the county with amounts topping nearly 8” in the northern portions of the county.
Many residents awoke Monday morning to find driveways, roads, basements and in some cases living rooms flooded. Columbus saw a record rainfall of 5.15” that lead many streets, sidewalks and gutters to overflow as the stormwater system struggled to keep pace with the downpour.
