It’s time for the Scarecrow Contest for Columbus Day. Businesses, individuals and organizations are invited to compete. Last year Cherokee County Road and Bridge (above) and Mercy Columbus (below) had unique entries.
The Columbus Day committee is preparing to hold the 25th scarecrow contest during the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta. Last year, visitors to the festival strolled down Maple Street to view some 14 scarecrows, which certainly made the downtown area look inviting to the many visitors and gave a taste of fall.
