When I first came to work at the museum, I told the board I would stay for six months and that would give them time to find someone else. Someone that knew something about taking care of a museum. Well, some 20 or so years later I am still here and learning something new all the time.
Recently Columbus Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted other area FCA groups at an activity night. Students played a variety of games including cards (above) and also had food and drinks (below). There was also a special speaker for the event.

Keith Michael Smith, 47, was arrested Thursday by Baxter Springs Police officers on charges of disorderly conduct and interference with law enforcement; obstruct or resist and is being held in lieu of $845 bail.
Scott Draeger brought Screamin Freedom, an S10, 535 BBC an IHRA World finalist in 2022. He also brought Bonnie’s Revenge, 1927 Ford Roadster 468 BBC that has raced in the Nostalgia Race Series. Draeger also brought a 1971 GMC Sierra in memory of Rick Draeger. Rick Draeger purchased the GMC new and after an ownership change or two (still within the Draeger family) the truck now is a part of Scott’s classic car collection. Below Scott Draeger brought his vehicles to Columbus in this trailer set up.

Traffic stop leads to burglary arrest

A 21-year-old woman was taken into custody by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies earlier this week following a traffic stop in Weir. Monday night deputies spotted the vehicle, which they had been looking for in connection to the burglary of a Weir Mini-Storage Unit on October 4, 2023.
