Something new is happening for the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Business EXPO for 2023. A Health Fair providing information on what is available in Cherokee County and Columbus has been added.

The Columbus Day committee is preparing for its 25th scarecrow contest to be held during the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta. For businesses on the square that do not want to position a scarecrow to a street lamp, use your display window.

C of C golf tourney October 1

If you are planning on playing in the annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament on October 1 don’t wait too long to register as team space is filling up. The tournament will be held at the Brush Creek Golf and Grill.

Six in competition for Little Mister, Miss crown

The 2023 Little Mr. and Miss Columbus will be crowned the evening of October 6, on the Cherokee County courthouse steps around 5:30 p.m. during the Columbus Day Festival Bean Feed, sponsored by Commerce Bank. Labette Bank is hosting the Little Mr. and Miss Columbus crowning.

Cherokee County Jail Report

Kenneth Duane Olds, 36, was arrested Sunday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and was released on $250 bail.
