Farmers Coop acquires former Faulkner Grain facilities

The Board of Directors of the Farmers Cooperative Association (FCA) is pleased to announce the cooperative’s acquisition of an existing grain storage facility west of its headquarters located in Columbus. Formerly Faulkner Grain Inc., the new facility is located at 904 Falcon Lane in Chetopa.

Wilks Guin Sims, 43, was arrested Thursday by Galena Police officers on charges of possession of stimulants, use or possess drug paraphernalia for use in the human body and on a warrant and is being held without bail.

Marcos Ramos Jimenez, 29, was arrested Thursday by Oswego Police officers on charges of failure to appear and was released on $108 bail. Vincent Steven Janssen, 35, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department and is being held without bail.

Some offices closed for holiday observance

City offices in Columbus and Galena will be closed and the trash trucks will not be operated. Cherokee County and Baxter Springs offices will be open. All federal and state offices will be closed and there will be no postal service.
